Luiza Cruz

Who is Luiza Cruz?

Multimedia-artist Luiza Cruz started her career as a model at the age of 16, having already passed through Milan and worked for big brands such as Giambattista Valli and Bluemarine.

At 22, she started in the performing arts, acting in advertisements and in the short film Como se o Céu era Oceano, presented (and awarded) at the 21st international short film festival in her hometown of Belo Horizonte.

A professional singer since 2019, Luiza has composed and independently released music. In 2020, she participated in the reality show The Voice Brasil, reaching halfway through the program, passing through the teams of Michel Teló and Carlinhos Brown and starring in one of the most commented battles on the program, playing Woman from the End of the World by one of her idols Elza Soares.

In that same year she was invited to participate in the celebrations of the anniversary of Belo Horizonte by Globo Minas singing Maria Maria by her fellow Mineiro (citizen of Minas Gerais) Milton Nascimento. In 2021 she was ranked and awarded at the National Song Festival with her authorial song Olhos Vazios, which in 2021 was chosen to be the soundtrack of an edition of the Espelho program, by Lázaro Ramos on the Brasil channel.

Luiza continues to participate in the local Tranquilo festival in her city, singing her authorial songs as well as authorial shows around the city such as the Circuito Soiree of the stations.

As a vocal stylist, Luiza Cruz delivers and moves. She impresses with her very presence, her commitment to excellence, her spirit, her drive, and her intellect (btw: it is worth noting that Luiza finished Law School in Brazil).

All in one "package." It actually is rather obvious.

On the 2023 Bossa Nova Noites album Luiza will be singing over 10 songs ... ranging from Brazilian classics to original international R&B and Pop songs. All of the music will present Luiza in context of her Brazilian roots, while demonstrating an international vision in Soul Jazz.

As BNN CEO Robert Hebert says ... "No supermodel I know or have even heard of can sing Nina Simone ... accompanied by an arrangement by Miles Davis' collaborator Robert Irving III ... and then turn to sing Milton Nascimento, Curtis Mayfield and Chico Buarque backed by the best musicians in the world ... all before moving on to her own repertoire of over 60 original compositions. How can this even exist?"

Now a Bossa Nova Noites solo artist, Luiza Cruz is a key member of the Bossa Nova Noites multimedia and cultural theatrical project.

We believe in Luiza.

And, the world cannot avoid what is about to happen with this amazing Brazilian woman.
